Top Five Reasons Why 2005 Should Be The Year Your Business Gets a Web Site

1. A web site is an inexpensive way to put a great public face to you business

a. For as little as $500, plus registration and hosting you can have an 8-10 page website with photos, custom images and plenty of copy about your business.

b. You can present your business as you would like it – focus on your most profitable products and services – not just a yellow page ad online, much more than that.

2. Your competition is going to build a website this year

a. If your competition hasn’t already created a site then there’s a good chance they will this year. Since 2000 the average growth rate of active websites is 27% per year. There were an estimated 21 million web sites in December 2003, there are an estimated 26 million web sites today.

b. Use Google local and see where you rank. Type in your business sector and location here: http://local.google.com/

3. Building a website is a business expense and is a great investment

a. If you are a small business, the expense of having a website is well worth the return on your investment. The tax write off for web services lowers your taxable income and when you increase your marketing you can increase your sales.

4. Put you storefront in front of more people

a. The web is open to the public, all of the public. For all businesses finding new customers is always required. Whether you sell art, food or household items, home or business services when you get your business online you can reach more people.

5. Worry about what is important

a. Most small service oriented businesses base sales around word-of-mouth, I know I do. Having a website can and will enhance word-of-mouth about your business. More people will be able to find out more answers about your business. They will be able to samples of your past work from landscaping to custom painting to excavating to photography to custom flower arrangements.

b. Instead of wondering when the phone will ring next you can take the time to see which clients are of value to take on. Some requests may be too large for your enterprise, others may be too small to be worth your effort. You can decide and worry about having too many requests, instead of too few.
